Coffee Desk
Here it goes. The Coffee Desk, my newest theme that I am very proud of 
I should have released it last week but I got stuck in making the theme compatible with ALL major browsers. I have tried many ways in HTML and CSS but just couldn’t make it display well in major browsers. Finally, I am glad that I found the solutions using jQuery!
This is the first theme I created 3 months after the “Simple Style” theme. Sorry to let you all wait for so long but I will my best to release at least 2 quality themes per month. Hope you like the Coffee Desk theme and visit this site regularly for more releases in future!

Things to take note
Header Links
1) Limit the number of the header links to 4 only. If you display more than 4 links, the “paper note” will overlap with the “coffee cup”.
2) Control the length of the links to within 2 lines.
Blog Title
Currently, the blog title is using the Arial font. You can change the font style by following this instruction:
- Open “header.php”
- Remove this code
<div id=”blogtitle”><a href=”<?php echo get_option(‘home’); ?>”><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?></a></div>
- Save the file and upload to your server
- Open “images/bg_header.jpg” in image editing software
- Add your desired font and content to the image
- Save the image and upload to your server
Blog Description
If you don’t want to display the blog description, simply remove this line from “header.php”:
<div id=”subtitle”><?php bloginfo(‘description’);?></div>
Post Title
Coffee Desk theme allows up to 2 lines for the post title without distorting the design.
Bottom of the Content Area
The white space size below the content area is not a constant. Sometimes you’ll see a big gap, sometimes the gap is small and fits well. This is a design constraint and is not an error.

I am looking to build a 2-3 page personal (executive) website – not a blog though. I like this template just need to make a few minor changes like making the background an office desk so it has a professional executive feel to it.
How do I go about doing this… just use the psd? It seems wordpress is just for blogs and I need more of a brochure site.

@Alexandra, the modification you mentioned doesn’t require the coding change. By uploading the modified images and your blog will have different design.

Brian is there a way to make the page wider? I need to be able to show more text. Also, how do you remove the calendar in the sidebar?

I cannot upload the theme to my blog ( blogspot.com).
It’s show this error like this
”’Please correct the error below and submit your template again.
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure that all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: Content is not allowed in prolog.”’
Can I use this theme in (blogspot ) or in only in wordpress ?
I saw someone using wordpress theme in his/her blogspot.com.

I’m from Brazil, just love your work!
I have a question. At IE8 and firefox the left/right scroollbar (at the bottom) keeps moving, it shows up and desappear, and the up and down scrollbar keeps going up and down… it makes difficult to read the blog content (actually, it makes me nervous…ehehehe). Do you have any idea of what could be?

Great job with all of your templates! I was seriously pulled between the coffee cup and the water color theme. What great work you do.
I originally downloaded your coffee cup through another site and uploaded the xml files to Blogger without a problem, and the site is up and fine. However, I can’t figure out how to get the “read more” feature to make my usually long posts shorter. I tried download your file from here, but Blogger gives me error messages. It’s looking for an xml file, and there isn’t one in your zip folder. When I try the other files it can’t read them or tells me that something is incomplete.
Any Suggestions?

I would like to incorporate a few photos on my blog and am wondering if it would be possible to have the option of ‘thumb tacking’ a photo in place of the coffee cup?
I have NO idea what all that entails from your end, but thought I would ask!

@Carey, the Photoshop file of this theme allows you to turn off the coffee cup layer. You can then add your photo in that area.

Isn’t wordpress great! Its great to see you supporting the folks that use you theme. I started a gourmet coffee blog this fall and am making it one of my 2010 projects. I’ve been looking at themes for a few months. This one looks good. Do you do any sponsered themes?

Whats the encoded string in template.php in this template? It looks like a virus and reports as one to some of my visitors, as I am using this on a site.
@Garth, template.php contains links to the advertisers who sponsor the theme. Since the theme is available for free and to prevent others from removing the links, I have no choice but to encode them. I assure you it is not a virus.
If you want to remove the credit links, you can purchase the ad removal package at $20.

@Sara, this theme is available in Wordpress and Blogspot. As far as I know, this theme has not been converted to Tumblr.

I wanted to drop by and say I absolutely LOVE the work you do. I’ve been on this site so many times oogling your beautiful work. When I decided to redo the theme for my blog, the Coffee Desk theme was the one I chose (The one with the books was a close second). Anyway, I modified it a little and it not only works perfectly, but my readers are thoroughly enjoying it. They said they feel like they are peeking at my notes.

@Renee, Tumblr is growing in popularity and I’ll do a feasibility study about offering my themes in Tumblr. But it won’t be implemented in the next 6 months at least due to the current tight schedule.

@Jessica, just create a “page” instead of “post” and the page link will show up automatically in the header. Btw, please go to the theme’s forum page instead if you want to get theme support.

and click on a post, if you check the bottom of the page, the contents get cut off. is this a css setting? please advise. thank you
